Market-leading plumbing and drains business Dyno Rod has entered into an exciting partnership with the Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres for the 2018 motor racing season, becoming headline sponsor for television coverage of the new campaign.

With less than three weeks to go until the eagerly awaited championship curtain-raiser at Oulton Park in Cheshire on Saturday, 17th March, key sponsorship from the new deal with Dyno Rod means the ultra-popular Legends Cars will once again be gracing TV screens.

As announced a couple of weeks ago, TV coverage from at least five of the nine 2018 Legends Cars race meetings will be broadcast on digital satellite and cable channel Motorsport TV as part of the Digitex Television produced Last Lap magazine programme. Additionally, the action will also be screened on burgeoning online portal BARC TV, run by the British Automobile Racing Club.

Action from the quintet of events where the Legends Cars will run as a support category to the British Truck Racing Championship will be covered through the agreement with Dyno Rod, meaning there will be TV footage from the Brands Hatch race meeting in April, Donington Park in July, Snetterton in September, Pembrey in October and the season finale in November at Brands.

“We are understandably delighted with this new deal with Dyno Rod, a huge and very well known national UK brand, and very much looking forward to working with the business throughout the 2018 season”, said Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres owner Phil Cooper.

“It’s building up to be a very exciting season for the Legends Cars once again, we have a superb calendar, with an expanded total of 51 races this year, and we’re expecting another extremely healthy and highly competitive grid. Having Dyno Rod onboard as our TV sponsor is fantastic and helps retain a strong media platform for the championship.”

Dyno Rod has long been one of the most recognisable brands in the drains, and more recently, plumbing sector and was founded in 1963 by airline pilot Jim Zockoll. Pioneering the use of a new electro-mechanical equipment in the UK to help unblock drains, the business soon became a major national entity.

Quickly becoming established as a market leader, in the 1990s Dyno Rod expanded beyond providing solutions to problems with drains when the franchise business began offering more general plumbing services.

Speaking on the sponsorship deal with the Legends Cars National Championship, Dyno Rod’s Andy Millar said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have reached an exciting agreement with Phil Cooper and the Legends Cars National Championship to be a key sponsor for the category in 2018.

“When the opportunity arose to sponsor the championship, with the benefit of television coverage into the deal, we recognised it was an exciting and very effective platform from which to market the Dyno Rod brand. Legends Cars is a fantastic championship, with a great profile, and we’re very much looking forward to being part of the series for the new season.”
