With three weeks still to go until the conclusion of the current Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres season, category owner Phil Cooper has spoken of his delight at the huge amount of interest received for the 2021 campaign from drivers past and present, and prospective newcomers.

Over the last few weeks Cooper’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing and his email inbox has been filled with messages from competitors wishing to lodge entries for next season, when the Legends Cars will be looking forward to a potential eight-weekend championship.

Even with the difficulties which have impacted the motorsport world in general this year due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Legends Cars National Championship has weathered the storm very impressively with grids in the mid-twenties throughout the rescheduled campaign.

The racing has, of course, been as exceptional as ever with tremendous action up and down the order and the championship truly has once again lived up to its billing as providing the best big grid racing in the UK.

Add in the fantastic live streaming of all of the Legends Cars races, filmed and broadcast by 247.tv this year, the new Legends Cars YouTube channel set-up and run by 24hr Solutions and the most cost-effective season budgets imaginable and it really is no wonder the series is enjoying booming popularity with drivers from all disciplines of motorsport.

“It’s looking extremely likely we’ll have a capacity entry for next season”, commented Phil Cooper, championship owner, “On the basis of the calls and emails I’ve been receiving, the phone hasn’t stopped ringing, I think we’re looking at the potential to have one of our biggest grids in years.

“It’s absolutely fantastic, especially in a year which has been so difficult and challenging for society in general, we’re receiving such interest already for next year. Drivers currently competing in a variety of other championships, racing newcomers and, of course, our series regulars are all wanting to register for the full season so I’m quite confident the entry for 2021 will fill very quickly indeed.”
