CarFest North and CarFest South, the UK’s biggest family fundraising festivals, will again feature drivers and cars from the Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres this year – the 10th anniversary staging of the Chris Evans-founded entertainment extravaganzas.

The first of the two festivals, CarFest North, takes place this coming weekend, from Friday 23rd July, to Sunday, 25th July, at Bolesworth Estate in Cheshire, while the sister CarFest South – at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire – will be held between Friday, 27th August, and Sunday, 29th August.

Reigning Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres Champion Daniel Clark (Darras Hall) will appear at this weekend’s event in Cheshire and will be joined by multiple race winner Sean Smith (Marlow) and Richard Stagg (Harpenden).

Next month’s CarFest South will feature half a dozen Legends Cars competitors including Smith and Stagg. Also appearing at the Hampshire festival will be Nathan Anthony (Horley) and racing brothers Charlie Budd (Henley-on-Thames) and Daniel Budd (Didcot).

Both CarFests attract tens of thousands of visitors each year and make a welcome return in 2021 after enforced cancellation last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Legends Cars first appeared at CarFest in 2019.

With a sensational mix of race cars, road cars, live music, food and broader family entertainment, the festivals were established by radio DJ Chris Evans in 2011 to help raise vital funds for a wide variety of UK children’s charities. Over the previous nine years of CarFest, more than £16 million has been donated to charities such as BBC Children In Need and Teenage Cancer Trust.

At this weekend’s CarFest North there will live DJ sets from the likes of Basement Jaxx, Judge Jules and Faithless along with live performances from bands such as The Charlatans, Razorlight, Embrace, Marc Almond, Bjorn Again and Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott.

“It’s fantastic both CarFest events are able to go ahead this year and we are, of course, delighted Legends Cars will be part of these incredible fundraising festivals again”, said Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres owner Phil Cooper, “Chris Evans and his team of organisers do an amazing job, not least the support of so many vital children’s charities.

“The festivals are fantastic occasions for the whole family with a huge amount of entertainment across each weekend. We’re proud to be part of CarFest and looking forward to showcasing what Legends Cars and Legends Cars racing is all about. Thank you to the drivers who will be taking part, I’m sure they’ll have an amazing time!”
