With less than a week to go until the annual Autosport International Show at Birmingham NEC, the true start of the motorsport year, organisers of the always spectacular MRF Legends Cars National Championship are delighted to officially confirm the 2018 calendar.

Featuring an enhanced nine weekend schedule, with a total of 51 races taking place across 17 rounds, the hugely popular category for 5/8 scale motorcycle-engined pocket rockets will form part of five British Truck Racing Association events and the category will also make its first appearance at the huge American Speedfest meeting in June.

Making a welcome return to Oulton Park for the opening event of the new season on Saturday, 17th March, for a one day meeting, the MRF Legends Cars National Championship will then move on to Brands Hatch at the start of April to partner the BTRA – the first of three visits to the Kent venue.

Then heading to Croft in North Yorkshire followed by a visit to Anglesey in Wales in May, which will again feature the Tri-Nations Cup alongside the Irish Legends and Scottish Legends, the second Brands Hatch event takes place on 9th/10th June, the massive American Speedfest.

After a break of several weeks, the championship resumes at Donington Park in Leicestershire in late July with subsequent trips to Snetterton in Norfolk, Pembrey in Wales and then Brands Hatch again for the season finale on 3rd/4th November. Each of the final four race meetings of the season will be in support of the BTRA.

“We really are thrilled with our 2018 calendar and I’d like to thank the BARC [British Automobile Racing Club], the BTRA and the organisers of American Speedfest for helping us put together such a fantastic series of race meetings”, said MRF Legends Cars owner Phil Cooper, “After an outstanding 2017, the new season looks like it’s going to be even better – it should be incredible.

“It’s great news for our competitors we have one extra race meeting this year and everyone involved with the championship is excited to see Oulton Park and Pembrey back on the calendar. All in all, especially with the huge crowds we expect for the American Speedfest and the always popular truck meetings, we feel we have an outstanding calendar. Personally, I can’t wait for the season to start!”

MRF Legends Cars to launch 2018 season at Autosport International
Birmingham NEC will be the venue for the official launch of the 2018 season for the MRF Legends Cars National Championship next Thursday, 11th January, where the category will once again form part of the annual Autosport International Show.

Renowned and recognised the world over as the biggest motorsport event of its kind, and the true start of the motor racing year, ASI has long been part of the MRF Legends Cars marketing strategy and 2018 is no exception with the championship featuring on Stand 6845 in Hall 6.

Along with the ‘legendary’ Se-Van of championship mainstay Nathan Anthony, this year’s Legends Cars stand display – which is directly opposite the British Touring Car Championship stand – will also feature the car of new team 24 Hour Solutions.
